Over the last year I've been debating "branding" myself. I figured the purpose of this would be for my freelance work and just because I liked the idea of having a "name" out there instead of just my own. The name I've come up with is Octoberson, a name that I've used in various places but most recently I used it on deviantart.com. Amazingly no one has used that name yet, so I was thrilled that I didn't have to use numbers after it to identify myself from another Octoberson out there.
In the last year I've gotten the chance to design some things that have been in the public eye a bit more than normal, so it seemed like time to step up and try to create an identity for myself using my Octoberson name. This is what I came up with today just in playing around. The more I look at it, the more I do like aspects of it. I might decide to tone it down a bit, but for all intents and purposes, I think this is a nice, clean step forward into the logo that will be Octoberson Design. Feel free to comment and critique!
UPDATED: I've gotten a lot of very positive feedback on the logo design, so I couldn't be happier with how my "visual identity" has been received. After misreading an email over a critique for my logo I revised it yet again, but I honestly think it was a needed tweak. As you can see, the top logo is now THE logo I plan on using for the foreseeable future. It has a bit more balance to the design, which I think helps it become even stronger.

Nice dude, I like these a lot! And I have to admit that OctoberSon is one of the coolest names I've ever heard.
Thanks, man! I was up most of the night doing freelance on Tuesday and then decided to work on my own logo, so it's nice to see something I can come up with late at night looks good to everyone that's seen it so far.
