Thanks for stopping by...

Welcome to the world of Shawn and Octoberson Design!

I'm a graphic designer who's finally starting to branch out into other areas of art and interests. I've been a graphic designer/production manager/graphic/production director for a local magazine. While I like designing ads and helping to produce a magazine every month, I also love to draw.

My hope for this blog is to post all sorts of new things that I've created, from sketches to finished works. I want to put my name and my work out into cyberspace, maybe it will end up making more creations to put into my digital portfolio! Please feel free to contact me if my design skills could be of use to you.

octobersondesign.com

Last night I had a few drinks with a friend and coworker who I'm slowly but surely starting to collaborate with on freelance possibilities. After a few beers and more than a few laughs, at the end of the talk he told me to go right home and buy up the domain name for my freelance identity. Taking his advice, and just because I did consider it shortly after I did create the initial design for Octoberson Design, I thought it best to truly HAVE a domain name for it.

So, thanks to Paul's pushing me to do it, there is now an octobersondesign.com on the web. And I bet everyone out there that reads this thought it was crazy that a shawnskvarna.com exists! Now I have two domains. I will be posting my freelance work on there soon, once I get the site up and running, but for now it does bring me a certain peace of mind to know that I have a domain and will soon have a website to compliment my new logo.

On a side note, the comments and input about the logo have been very positive. Now that it's finalized and I promise I won't touch it anymore for a long time, it's a great feeling to know so many people have already taken to it. I'm excited to get business cards set up with my contact info and logo next, besides transferring my work to the new site. It's a very exciting time, what can I say?
